AROUND TOWN

// District Heights and Beyond\\
//The Issues\\

As a public servant I will work to build strong communities one person at a time through the principles of collective work and responsibility. Additionally, utilizing the principles of humanism I will strengthen our city and community with those who are committed to the development and betterment of every resident. While in office I will focus on the following four pillars: 1) public safety, 2) youth empowerment, 3) community vitality, and 4) economic sustainability:

1

Public Safety

I will partner with local law enforcement along with, City, County and State officials, to find new ways to increase the security of all residents. I will work with Home Ownership Associations and area residents to establish neighborhood watch programs, community days and neighborhood block parties to foster civic responsibility and relationship.

2

Community Vitality

I will provide leadership to create inclusive and collective opportunities for all residents to participate in the advancement of the District Heights community through service programs to re-instill pride in our community ,with collective advancement as the foundation.  With your support we will host summer camps, budgeting and wellness seminars, and home ownership programs.

3

Youth Empowerment

I will provide leadership to enhance safe zones for youth including community centers and playgrounds. Increase resources – tutoring, internships and post high school training to prepare residents for college and career readiness. Strengthen the community through building strong institutions to bridge the gap between seniors and youth.

4

Ecomomic Sunstainability

With your support I will focus on expanding employment opportunities for all sectors of our community including youth, veterans, single mothers, retired community members and young men. Establish training opportunities for our residents to secure higher paying jobs; Incentivize small business owners with tax breaks, and grants; Host Budgeting and Wellness Seminars as well as home ownership programs.
